SSCL supports a number of charity events throughout the year and our people never fail to impress with their commitment and passion to support a good cause.
We recently celebrated the achievements of our SSCL cyclists who took on 176 miles, as part of the UK Police Unity Tour in support of the UK Policing community.
To date the annual event has raised over £1.3 million for Care Of Police Survivors (COPS) charity and we’re truly privileged to have been a part of it again this year.
David Parsons FCIPD, Managing Director – SSCL Police & Resourcing said:
“We are about to head into a second decade of working with the Met and our team’s commitment to UK Policing goes well beyond the services we provide and this weekend was an excellent example of that.
“Riding alongside the Metropolitan Police and joining up with chapters representing all UK police forces was a humbling experience. During the ride you are constantly reminded of its purpose and the heartfelt support for this amazing charity.
“This year, I rode in memory of Officer Scott Eastwood Smith who died in 2011 and it was a very special moment to meet his incredible family to hear firsthand about Scott, his life and his passion working for the Met Police, and also how the family have been supported by COPS and the positive impact they have had.
“This year in addition to riding we had a team volunteering at the Survivors Weekend, helping Lisa Meads and the wonderful teams from COPS. We are in awe of their compassion and commitment to what they do.
“It is an honour to ride and an honour to support this incredible charity – thank you COPS.”
