In June, SSCL’s Fiona Christie, Director of Marketing and Communications, along with several colleagues from Sopra Steria and NHS SBS, volunteered as judges at the TeenTech awards. They were reviewing three categories: Best Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Best Innovation and Patient Safety.
The TeenTech Awards brought together students who exhibited remarkable energy, technical prowess, and deep product knowledge. The panel were particularly impressed by their enthusiasm, noting these young individuals are not just future technologists, but current trailblazers.
The projects presented at the awards emphasised AI, sustainability, and health. A recurring theme in discussions, was the development of low-cost, high-value solutions aimed at benefiting humanity and society.
This event is the culmination of nine months of hard work from thousands of students from schools across the UK and beyond, bringing together the top 62 teams for a day of feedback and celebration.
SSCL’s Fiona Christie, Director of Marketing & Communications attended the event and said:
“It was an honour to judge and present the award for ‘Best Use of AI’ at the TeenTech Awards alongside my colleague Archie Gleave. We saw many fantastic ideas and presentations, underpinned by research and data, with ethical consideration at the heart of ideas for public good. The teens we met were so bright, enthusiastic and curious – it was such an energising day!”
