SSCL recently announced the appointment of Mike Driver as Independent Chair of the SSCL Board. Within this role Mike will support the Board and provide strategic oversight and governance.
The decision to appoint Mike reflects the development and maturity of SSCL since the joint venture started in 2013. Effective from 1 January 2022, he will provide independent expertise as SSCL continues to develop its range of critical business support services for the UK Government, Defence, Police, and the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) across the UK.
Bringing over 40 years of Civil Service and financial experience, Mike has held senior roles at the Ministry of Justice, Department of Health and Social Care, Department of Work and Pension and HM Treasury. Commenting on his appointment, Mike said: “I am delighted to be able to join SSCL as Independent Chair of the Board. SSCL is recognised as an organisation that delivers high quality services across the public sector, including Civil Service, police service and military. I look forward to providing the strong independent oversight, support and constructive challenge that will allow the organisation to continue to thrive and grow. I am particularly keen to meet many of the amazing people who work for the organisation and hear their stories.”
David Morris, Chief Executive Officer at SSCL, said: “Mike brings valuable experience and expertise in helping us build on our success to date. The UK public sector is rapidly expanding its digital service offerings and SSCL has a huge opportunity to be part of this transformation journey. I’m delighted to be working with Mike and the SSCL Board to make this happen.”
