SSCL has extensive experience of working in Government and Police. With our commercial expertise and technical capability, we are one of the UK’s leading shared services delivery organisations.

We are delivering Finance & Accounting, HR & Payroll and Procurement services, with additional client specific services where required.

With rising pressure on the public sector to deliver more for less, we’re helping our Government and Police clients to overcome these challenges by investing in technology that enables transformation.

For Government clients we have developed a single operating platform (SOP) which will enable them to deliver services for their customers more effectively. SOP is a key element of the SSCL Transformation programme, and the Environment Agency is our first client to move onto this platform.

For Police clients we have P-SOP, a single operating platform preconfigured to support standardised Police business processes for HR, Finance, Procurement and Payroll. Police officers and staff will be able to submit expense approvals online and buy permitted services and goods through the system.

Both technology platforms are easy to use and provide a user portal and interface comparable with everyday web applications, ensuring efficiency, accuracy and speed.

Service excellence

Service excellence is built into our strategy and across our operational activities to ensure continuous improvement. This improves speed and efficiency – getting it right first time, on time, every time. We also empower our employees to engage in service excellence through education on the principles of Lean, ongoing training and development, sharing best practice and listening to our clients.

SSCL Learning Services

SSCL has a dedicated Learning & Development Team based in Newport. The team provides high quality learning services, specialising in designing, developing and delivering business specific products and services for face-to-face, e-learning and blended learning. Our learning professionals provide realistic, pragmatic, best practice advice that adds value and helps clients to better achieve their business objectives.

The team has been accredited by the Learning & Performance Institute (LPI) since 2013. This is a nationally recognised quality mark for best practice in L&D and underlines our commitment to raising the standards of workplace learning and providing value to clients.
