Finance Assistant

Salary: £16,750 plus a 5% flexible benefit fund

Role overview

SSCL require a number of Finance Administrators to join our SSCL Police sector. The Finance Assistants will be responsible for inputting transactional Record to Report activities such as general ledger Journals, budgets and forecasts with accuracy and to time for SSCL Police Clients.

Key responsibilities

•    Inputting transactional Record to Report activities such as general ledger Journals, budgets and forecasts with accuracy and to time
•    Ensuring accounting procedures are up to date.
•    Run report, extract data and analyse data to ensure accuracy of data and transactional loading
•    Respond to, and resolve finance related queries, taking action as appropriate and identify any preventative measures.
•    To assist in the production of standard month end reports.
•    Support team members as required.
•    Update/maintain manual or data base records.
•    Input data accurately.
•    Comply with regulatory accounting requirements where applicable
•    To receive, route and respond to incoming service requests from clients.

Essential skills
•    Numerate and able to process complex data
•    Good spreadsheet and Word skills
•    Very good interpersonal skills
•    Able to use initiative and exercise sound judgment
•    Articulate and able to develop good working relationships with colleagues and clients
•    Takes pride in delivering a high quality, high accuracy task under strict deadlines

Desirable skills
•    AAT qualified or relevant finance qualification
•    Experience of working within a finance administration environment

Security clearance
The successful candidates will be required to go through a NPPV1 security clearance.
